The QESF President emphasized that the organization's establishment was a dream realized.
At a press conference held recently at Doha Tower, the Qatar Esports Federation (QESF) revealed its mission, vision, and goals.
Along with Sheikha Abeer bint Nooh Al Thani, Sheikh Nasser bin Khalid Al Thani, Moza Al Mohannadi, and Nasser Abdulla Al Hajri, it was attended by QESF President Sheikh Abdullah bin Faleh Al Thani, QESF Secretary-General Faisal Abdulrahman Khalid, QESF Assistant Secretary-General Khalifa Al Haroon, and QESF Board Members.
In order to create rules and strategies to advance e-sport in our community, the QESF President emphasised that the organization's founding was a dream come true.
Sheikh Abdullah also emphasised that the federation's goals are to promote the growth and development of esports in Qatar, increase community engagement, and establish itself as a leading organisation in this area. Additionally, the QESF and QUEST have inked an MoU.
CEO and founder of QUEST Elie Honain, said: “Today, we have marked another important milestone in the growth of esports in Qatar. Through our partnership with the Qatar Esports Federation, we will be able to grow our local talent pool through additional support and training, as well as increase the frequency of live competitions – both intrinsic pillars of the Qatar National Vision 2030’s plans for supporting the broader sports ecosystem and youth development. Qatar has already made significant moves in becoming the region’s leading esports hub and this collaboration is only set to enhance that.”
QESF Secretary General Khalid, added: "The federation aims to establish a culture of esports in Qatar and provide talented athletes with a clear path for professional progression to be able to represent Qatar at international levels."
The idea for the logo was created by connecting Qatar's first letter in both English and Arabic to represent a joystick.
