Saudi Arabia is set to revolutionize the world of gaming and esports with the launch of a massive new district in Qiddiya City, near Riyadh. This 500,000-square-metre center, reported by the Saudi Press Agency, is a part of an entertainment megaproject aimed at positioning Qiddiya as a global hub for gaming and esports.
This groundbreaking district isn't just about scale; it's about creating a dynamic environment that caters to all aspects of gaming and esports. With four distinct sections, each anchored by a main stadium capable of hosting 73,000 spectators, it's designed to attract the biggest stars and the most passionate gamers from around the world.
Abdullah bin Nasser Aldawood, the managing director of Qiddiya Investment Company (QIC), underscores the rapid growth of the gaming and esports sector and the Kingdom's ambitious plans to nurture this growth. He emphasizes that Qiddiya City will not only be a venue for major events and tournaments but also a welcoming community for gamers of all levels and ages.
One of the district's standout features is the world's largest indoor LED screen in an esports arena, setting a new standard for immersive gaming experiences. Additionally, the district will be a home for up to 25 international esports clubs, offering them facilities to live, train, and compete. This initiative aligns with the company's goal of drawing 10 million visitors annually by 2030, showcasing Saudi Arabia's commitment to becoming a leader in the global gaming and esports industry.
